AT&T plans consumer security service for 2012

AT&T will launch a mobile security platform in 2012 to help protect customers from mobile virus, malware and spyware, according to a Reuters report. The service, of which details are still scarce, will probably follow a subscription model, like PC based anti-virus software.

Canadians may be paying for items with the tap of an NFC-enabled phone by the end of 2012.

According to Reuters, Canadian banks, credit card companies and telecoms are reaching an agreement on an NFC payment service that will capitalize on Canada’s robust contactless infrastructure.
