The Information Systems Audit and Control Association’s annual IT Risk/Reward Barometer, a survey conducted by the company, hopes to accurately portray the uptake of emerging technologies and their accompanied inherent risks.
One of the growing trends with companies is bring your own device. In the workplace, IT managers are not thrilled with this new trend, because it poses security risks when employees have multiple devices that are not previously certified on their networks. The consumer devices can bring viruses, malware, and other threats along with them, once they are allowed onto an enterprise network.
Cloud adoption is a hot topic for this year. Companies increasingly said they would pursue the technology this year, a major change from last year, reports isaca.org.
The last notable point includes an uptick in IT security positions that are forecast to be needed over the next year. A 30% increase is projected because of all of the new technologies emerging around the same time period.
